RAC1: West Ham could reportedly sign Gomes if it wasn't for the player's agents
- Reputable Catalan radio claims the Premier League club are the most potential candidates to land the Portuguese
- However, the financial demands of the agents of the injured player could make the deal fall through
RAC1 has claimed that West Ham are leading the way for Barcelona outcasted defender Andre Gomes. The 25-year-old is reportedly 'going through a bit of a hell' at the Camp Nou following the €55m move back in 2016. The Portuguese has failed to fit into Blaugrana and earned an unfortunate label of the club's 'biggest transfer flop in history'.
Gomes would reportedly love to join West Ham and the deal could satisfy all sides. However, the player's agents have emerged as a surprise obstacle. The Hammers are seemingly unable to meet their financial demands so the representatives are now reportedly 'waiting for a better deal' to land the Portuguese.
Gomes, meanwhile, could be difficult to offload as the defender suffered an unfortunate hamstring injury in the clash against Tottenham about ten days ago. Even though the recent medical research made by Mundo Deportivo claims the Portuguese will need only up to 4-5 weeks to recover, he is no longer a priority signing and cannot attract potential buyers via his playing skills.
It was reported on Sunday, however, that West Ham wished to purchase Andre Gomes in exchange for Barca-linked starlet Domingos Quina plus extra cash, according to Mundo Deportivo. The 18-year-old is in plans of the board to be involved in Barca B squad for the next season.
In any case, Gomes' future certainly lies far from the Camp Nou stadium. The Portuguese has also been linked with a Valencia return, while the fans have lost their hope in the 25-year-old. Well, almost all of them.
Where should Gomes go?
