Marca: Barca have four midfielders on their radar
- Valverde demand another versatile player capable of operating in the centre
- The Catalans currently have four names on their radar
Barcelona are reportedly not done at the transfer market yet. The transfer window closes in three weeks so the Catalans have plenty of time to sign all the necessary players. Despite having landed Lenglet, Malcom, Arthur and Vidal during the course of this summer, Barca still want more. Marca are certain Ernesto Valverde needs another versatile midfielder to complete his squad.
There are four players on the Blaugrana radar and the club's new sporting director Eric Abidal is working hard on securing one of the candidates. However, all cases are rather complicated and the Catalans will have to wait until the final days of the transfer window to complete the signings, Marca continue. Who are these four players?
Adrien Rabiot. The 24-year-old is reported to have tight links with Abidal. However, the negotiations were tough as the French club has seemed to be reluctant in terms of selling the midfielder whose contract expires next year. He isn't satisfied with the terms offered by PSG and could either be sold this summer or join Barca for free in 2019.

Frenkie De Jong. The 21-year-old has long been Blaugrana transfer priority. However, Ajax would only let the youngster leave if they fail to qualify for the Champions League group stage. The Dutch side still has 3 matches to go which means the Catalans have to wait AGAIN.

Thiago Alcantara. Former Blaugrana star was considered to be the best candidate to strengthen Valverde's midfield while his brother Rafinha advised the club to bring him back. However, the rumours linking Thiago with Camp Nou return were denied while the Spaniard has recently emerged as a surprise candidate to join Barca rivals, Real Madrid.
