Curious stats behind Messi's incredible seven-goal haul: he only scores at home
- The Argentine has already netted seven times since the start of the season
- This incredible run includes two braces and one hat-trick
- However, all these goals arrived at the Camp Nou stadium
Lionel Messi is literally cannot stop scoring since the start of the 2018/2019 campaign. He has already netted SEVEN times in six total official matches in all competitions. This incredible run includes two braces (against Alaves and Huesca in La Liga) and one hat-trick (against PSV in the Champions League).

However, there is one curious feature behind all these goals: Messi only scores at home, at the Camp Nou stadium. All three matches he has found the net so far were held at Blaugrana home ground while he didn't manage to score in two La Liga away fixtures (against Valladolid and La Real) and in the Spanish Supercopa which took place in Tangier.
In any case, Messi has really started the 2018/2019 campaign with a bang. His most recent performance against PSV saw him breaking several records and setting some on own ones. For example, he now overcomes his long-time rival Cristiano Ronaldo in one rather crucial sporting aspect - the number of the Champions League hat-tricks as he netted his 8th one past PSV.
Moreover, Messi has now scored more free-kick goals in 2018 than any other player in this calendar year: also eight. So far this season he has already netted twice: a brilliant 'under-the-wall' strike against Alaves in the La Liga opening fixture and against PSV on Tuesday evening. If he continues to score at Camp Nou, we'll see more of Messi's magic this Sunday against Girona.
