Week 49: How Barca's starting line-up would look like if all current transfer rumours were true
Barcelona Live predict an exclusive line-up which would feature ALL players the Catalans are currently linked with. Some surprise names included!
Barcelona are always targetting a huge number of promising starlets and experienced players as well. There are certainly several areas in the current squad which needs to be better covered up. For example, Blaugrana defensive line is one of the weakest spots given Gerard Pique's age and Samuel Umtiti's neverending injury. Moreover, Jordi Alba is the only senior left-back in the squad.
Secondly, Barcelona are linked with some 'big' names. Matthijs de Ligt, Frenkie de Jong, Adrien Rabiot and the most recent addition to this list, Rodrigo Bentancur, are the hottest prospects at the market right now. Finally, Neymar's return is not just a wild dream. Can you imagine how could Barcelona line-up should they manage to sign ALL players they are currently linked with?
That is a wild guess from us, but, who knows, what does the future hold for our club? Perhaps, some of these players would eventually end up at the Camp Nou stadium. Moreover, with all these potential signings, Ernesto Valverde - or whoever comes next - could use both the 4-3-3 and the 4-4-2 formations.
Right now, Barcelona are especially heavily linked with the Ajax duo of Matthijs de Ligt and Frenkie de Jong. The centre-back is considered to be Gerard Pique's replacement while the midfielder is already described as a unique player, one of his kind, just like legendary Andres Iniesta and Xavi Hernandez.

Experienced stars Adrien Rabiot and Rodrigo Bentancur could add some stability and creative into the Blaugrana midfield. The Frenchman is all but confirmed to join Barca for free in summer while the Uruguayan could eventually land at Barca in January for 60 million euros, as per Corriere.
The defensive woes could be solved by Marc Bartra's return. According to the Catalan press, Barca could pay just 30 million euros for their former star. Meanwhile, promising defender Eder Militao and Ferland Mendy would also be a perfect upgrade.
With Luis Suarez slowly growing older, Barca are obviously in need to strengthen their attack. They have recently scouted several times Genoa striker Krzysztof Piatek who is a new revelation after scoring ten goals in 13 Serie A fixtures. Finally, Neymar's return could be on the cards as well even though both sides are keeping calm about this fantastic possibility.
