Busquets: 'Our problem? We slept through first 20 minutes against Levante'
- Busquets was one of the regulars who wasn't spared for the Copa del Rey clash
- He admits that the reason for the defeat is the team being asleep in the opening minutes of the game
- The midfielder, however, reckons that Barca deserved the away goal and the tie is completely open
Ernesto Valverde has decided to give rest to five first-team players against Levante, but Sergio Busquets wasn't one of them. The midfielder has returned to action in a 2-1 away loss after missing Getafe clash on the weekend due to fitness problems.
Despite the defeat, Busquets is optimistic for the turnaround at the Camp Nou.
"The tie is open after Coutinho's goal," Busquets said after the game. "The team deserved that, above all for the second half. In the first half, we came out asleep and [Levante] took advantage of that, putting us on the ropes with two goals.
"They dropped in intensity after that, they had Morales' chance, but I think in general we were better and deserved, at very least, the goal. In the end, we had chances, but we were penalised by the first half, above all the opening 18 minutes."
Blaugrana lost the first leg of the Copa del Rey round of 16 tie 2-1. The second leg will be played at the Camp Nou on January 17. Barcelona need to win 1-0 or with a two-goal difference in order to advance to the next round.
Do you agree with Busquets that the Barca were the better team for the most part of the game?
