Luis Suarez on Neymar: 'I could play with him again at Barcelona'
- Barcelona striker believes that Neymar's return to the Camp Nou is possible because 'you never know what can happen'.
- Suarez suggests that the media should stop the speculations and let Neymar deliver the news himself when the time comes.
"In football, you never know what can happen," Luis Suarez told Brazilian newspaper Globo Esporte. "I could play with him again at Barcelona, in a match among friends or even at my home."
"What Neymar said is true, in every transfer window they speak about him a lot. It's Neymar on one side, Neymar on the other. What we have to do is let him enjoy the decision he made, which was to go to Paris," Barcelona striker continued.
Suarez wants everyone to leave Neymar alone and patiently wait for the news about his future that will come from the player himself: "Let him enjoy Paris. And when the opportunity comes to move, he's going to decide and everyone will know. I think he's very mature, very aware. He doesn't need to spend all day listening to what is being said because it's complicated. He has to focus on what he does spectacularly, which is play football."
Here is what the Brazilian star has told Canal Plus himself in his most recent interview: "There is always speculation about me. Ever since I became a professional footballer there has always been speculation that I would quit other clubs, but there is nothing concrete. As soon as there is something definitive, be reassured, I will tell everyone."
According to Spanish newspaper AS, Neymar’s release clause in 2020 will be set at €160m. Minding the current state of the transfer market and apparent interest from several clubs including Barcelona and Real Madrid, it is not difficult to imagine Neymar leaving PSG who desperately need a cash inflow in order to sort out their accounts. The club might be facing sanctions from UEFA if they don't comply with the Financial Fair Play rules.
