Valverde says Boateng is ready to play right away
- Barca coach suggests that people should criticize the club's transfers until they see the new signings in action.
- He is happy with Kevin-Prince Boateng whose signing has been officially confirmed yesterday.
- The striker might make his debut for Barcelona on Wednesday already.
"All of Barca's signings are always controversial," Ernesto Valverde said at a news conference on Tuesday. "People spoke a lot about Paulinho and Arthur but they gave us good performances. Munir's departure is a matter of the club."
"Boateng knows the job," he continued. "He knows La Liga and he is aware of his role, he is different from Munir and if Munir still was here he would not have come. We hope he helps us, he is a strong player"
"We trust Boateng a lot and let's not forget he had a great season with Las Palmas," Valverde added before confirming that the 31-year-old might make his first appearance in the Blaugrana shirt on Wednesday already as Barcelona face Sevilla in the Copa del Rey quarter-final.
Kevin-Prince Boateng has been signed by Barcelona on Monday and has been unveiled at the Camp Nou on Tuesday afternoon. "This is a test and I know I haven't arrived as a starter, but I want to play well and stay for many years, that's my goal," Barcelona's newest signing said at his first press conference. "At almost 32 years old, the role of a No.9 is perfect for me. It's important to have a player like me in the team because I have other attributes."
