Attack + Defence: become Ernesto Valverde & create best Barcelona line-up to face Sevilla
There are plenty of options for our coach ahead of the Copa del Rey game but which combination is the best?
Attack 1. The strongest XI.
Sevilla are one of the strongest opponents in Spain, especially at home. Barca travel to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan without Leo Messi and Sergio Busquets and it is very likely that Ernesto Valverde will start the rest of his most experienced players.
Attack 2. The debut.
Kevin-Prince Boateng has a chance to make his debut at Barcelona two days after the official announcement of his transfer. In this case, he is likely to link up with Philippe Coutinho and Malcom up front as Prince's main role at Barca is Luis Suarez's backup:
Attack 3. Let's get crazy.
Copa del Rey quarter-final is probably not the time to risk but you never know - who would have imagined our squad without Leo Messi? Perhaps, Ernesto Valverde doesn't care about the Cup that much and will decide to rest his big guns and give a chance to the youngsters:
BONUS: Attack 4. 3-4-3.
Barcelona coach has dropped a hint at his pre-match press conference claiming that Barca might use the 3-4-3 formation someday. Is Valverde going to try it out against Sevilla?
Defence 1. Expected line-up.
Tribuna.com assume these are the four players who will feature in our defence against Sevilla as Clement Lenglet and Gerard Pique have developed a very solid partnership while Sergi Roberto needs rest after starting several games in a row.
Defence 2. Vermaelen for Alba.
Another player who certainly needs a breather is Jordi Alba. Valverde has mentioned three ways to allow the left-back to sit one out: as mentioned, it is the 3-4-3 formation, Thomas Vermaelen as a full-back and Juan Miranda's call-up. The Barca B defender hasn't been included in the squad, therefore, we only have two options.
Defence 3. Roberto for Semedo.
Sergi has entered the starting line-up immediately after returning to action in January and it would not be a huge surprise to see Valverde trusting his utility man once again against Sevilla.
BONUS: Defence 4. 3-4-3.
To complete our bonus squad we have the only defensive setup featuring those three centre-backs who were called up for the Copa game. Sam Umtiti is still recovering, Jeison Murillo is suspended while Chumi and Jorge Cuenca have been left out of the squad for sporting reasons.
Which combination is your favourite? Is it Attack 1 + Defence 3 or Attack 2 + Defence 1? Let us know in the comments!
