Bartomeu labels Neymar's return as 'not possible' because 'Dembele is better'
- The boss denies rumours: "It's not possible for Neymar to come to Barcelona as we have another sporting project with Dembele and Coutinho."
- He also insists Coutinho has a future at Barca unless someone meets his release clause.
Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu once again opens up on the much-discussed topic of Neymar's potential return at the Camp Nou stadium. There were rumours that the Brazilian was 'begging' the Blaugrana board to take him back. Apparently, they are far from the truth.
Marca quote the boss as saying: "It's not possible for Neymar to come to Barcelona as we have another sporting project with Dembele and Coutinho. We are happy with what we have, as Dembele is better than Neymar and he is a good professional player. He is a young guy who arrived at a huge club and that's not easy, but he has adapted and he is much better than Neymar."
Apart from Dembele, Bartomeu heaps praise on Philippe Coutinho in light of the neverending rumours linking the Brazilian with the summer exit. He continues: "Coutinho is an excellent player and he has the coach's confidence. He has contract with us and he will remain at the team, unless they meet his release clause."
Josep Maria Bartomeu on Philippe Coutinho: "Coutinho is a great player, excellent, he's getting better and better, he has the confidence of the coach, he's a global player and we expect a lot from him and he will continue at Barça." pic.twitter.com/8eLVcB1OsP— Squawka News (@SquawkaNews) April 15, 2019
