Guardiola to go all out for 'new Busquets' Rodri
- Guardiola has identified Atleti's Rodri as his main transfer target for the summer.
- The former Barca boss rates the midfielder so highly that he is ready to break the club's transfer record for him.
- Rodri is being labelled 'the new Busquets' by experts and fans alike.
Pep Guardiola has been struggling to replicate his Barcelona success ever since he left the Camp Nou in 2012. Maybe this is why he is trying to model his current Manchester City squad using Barcelona template and has identified a player labelled 'new Busquets' as his main target.
City’s scouts and director of football, Txiki Begiristain, have watched Rodri extensively and have been busy laying the groundwork for a move in the hope of securing a deal before pre-season starts in early July.— Superbia Proelia (@SuperbiaProeIia) April 22, 2019

This would mean City breaking their all-time transfer record with Rodri having a 70 million release clause in his contract. At the moment, City's most expensive purchase on the transfer market is Riyad Mahrez, who joined them from Leicester City on a 68 million euros deal.
Giving the fact that Busquets is currently 30 years old and not getting any younger, maybe it's Barca who should be making a move for the 'new Busquets'...
