Coutinho's agent gives his verdict on the alleged Coutinho-Griezmann swap
- The Brazilian is unlikely to continue at Barca with just 11 goals in all competitions.
- However, his agent Bertolucci denies these rumours: "It’s untrue that Griezmann is going to replace Philippe at Barcelona. I don't know why they are saying that. I don’t know about that and that's why I don't want to talk anymore."
- The Frenchman, meanwhile, has recently confirmed his desire to leave Atletico with Barca the main contender to land him.
Tuesday's edition of the highly reputable Catalan newspaper Diario Sport announced that Barcelona plan a 'Coutinho-Griezmann' operation, i.e. going to sell the former to raise funds to bring the latter.
Unfortunately for Barca, the first part of the plan is not going so well for Barca, according to Mundo Deportivo's Wednesday update. There are NO offers for Coutinho despite several clubs showing interest. Chelsea's interest is apparently the most concrete one, however, the Blues are currently hit with the two-window FIFA transfer ban.
Meanwhile, Philippe Coutinho's agent, Andrea Bertolucci denies rumours on the alleged Coutinho-Griezmann swap. He says, as quoted by Diario AS: "It’s untrue that Griezmann is going to replace Philippe at Barcelona. I don't know why they are saying that. I don’t know about that and that's why I don't want to talk anymore, but it's false."
Coutinho is heavily linked with the Blaugrana exit after a rather disappointing campaign. So far this season, the Brazilian has only scored 11 goals in 53 appearances.
What about Griezmann, though? The Frenchman has just announced his decision to leave Atletico this summer. Barcelona are expected to be his destination, but there is also interest from Paris Saint-Germain who met with the player's representatives last week. This summer, Griezmann's release clause will drop to only €120m, a sum Barcelona consider affordable.
