- Both players are true revelations following their Ajax campaign.
- De Ligt is expected to announce his future on May 15, however, De Jong admits he doesn't know it yet.
- De Jong says on his teammate: "It would be good to be together and really good for Barca to sign a player that they can use in the coming years."
Ajax midfielder Frankie de Jong completed his Barcelona transfer this January. He could be joined by another teammate, Matthijs de Ligt. According to the rumours in the Catalan press, the Ajax centre-back could announce his move already this Wednesday, May 15.
De Jong admits he would be happy if the things work out this way: "Honestly, I don't know what De Ligt's going to do, it's his decision, but I wouldn't mind it he joined Barcelona. It would be good to be together and really good for Barca to sign a player that they can use in the coming years."
He also praises his Ajax teammate: "Matthijs is 19 years old, but sometimes when he talks you'd think he's an early retiree. Sometimes I think; take it easy, don't act like you've all wisdom under your belt already."
Matthijs de Ligt has scored five goals so far this season, including two stunning headers in the Champions League knock-out stages. According to various sources, his Barcelona deal has been agreed for already a month.
