Barca great Rivaldo hints at Guardiola's return
- Apparently, Blaugrana fans would LOVE to see the Catalan specialist back in the dugout.
- Rivaldo says: "Perhaps a good proposal from a Spanish club could interest him."
- He continues: "Pep doesn’t like to be away from his family and friends and really enjoys the time spent with them, so a possible return to Spain would be helpful."
On Sunday, Manchester City snatched the 2018/2019 Premier League title in a rather dramatic fashion. A win would see them crowned champions, however, they found themselves one goal behind away at Cardiff. Luckily, Sergio Aguero, Aymeric Laporte, Riyad Mahrez and Ilkay Gundogan get the job done and Pep Guardiola's side edged over Liverpool with just one-point gap between them.
Guardiola has now won two Premier League trophies in a row. No wonder Barcelona fans still hope for his iconic return at the Camp Nou stadium as he managed to scoop TWO Champions League titles between 2009 and 2012. Luckily for the Cules, ex-Blaugrana Rivaldo now hints that Pep's comeback could be a real possibility.
Betfair quote the legendary Brazilian as saying: "Of course, when you perform well it’s normal that other top clubs become interested in your services. I believe Pep will have other opportunities and new projects to think about this summer and, despite his apparent satisfaction at the Etihad. Perhaps a good proposal from a Spanish club could interest him."
He goes on: "I’m saying this because Pep doesn’t like to be away from his family and friends and really enjoys the time spent with them, so a possible return to Spain would be helpful."
Our users, meanwhile, are looking forward to Pep's potential return:
Rivaldo also praises Guardiola: "Pep always showed ambition to become manager and I can only be happy about how things are working out for him, as he is one of the best managers in the world without a doubt. Furthermore, he has a special way of interacting with his players, showing the great human being that he is, and all the players seem to have a good impression of him."
Curiously, Pep has recently revealed which league win is his favourite - and his admission have made the Cules really happy: "My favourite title win is still the one when Barcelona beat Real Madrid 6-2. I was in my first year as coach, in my hometown, with the club of my heart, with the club I love the most."
At Barca, Guardiola won 14 trophies.
