Barca won't increase De Ligt offer despite Raiola's pressure
- Mino Raiola pressures Barcelona to increase their offer.
- He thinks De Ligt's recent performances make him a more valuable asset.
- Barca will not accept Raiola's conditions.
According to Diario Sport, Matthijs de Ligt's agent Mino Raiola pressures Barcelona to increase their offer. Raiola assumes that the 19-year-old centre-back has risen his price thanks to his recent impressive performances and deserves a better deal at the Camp Nou.
Barca, however, do not agree with De Ligt's agent. The Catalans intend to sign the player on the conditions similar to those of Frenkie de Jong.
According to the same source's report back in January, De Jong will earn a maximum of €16 million at Barcelona. He will have a fixed income of €10 million while the other €6 million are the different variables included in the contract.
The club has communicated to De Ligt that they really want him to join but will not go over the top. The Catalans expect the Dutch defender to 'do his part' on the way to the Camp Nou.
Messi, Griezmann, Dembele, Arthur, Frenkie, De Ligt & Ter Stegen. Please get rid of the deadweight (& the manager) & I promise we’ll have lots of fun next season with this relatively young but very high-quality core.— Laportismo (@MoRosement) May 14, 2019
The most recent report in the Barcelona-based Mundo Deportivo state that De Ligt reportedly has doubts over the potential Camp Nou move. Apparently, he wants assurances he is going to be a regular player right from the start. Right now there are three world-class centre-backs at Barca, namely Gerard Pique, Samuel Umtiti and Clement Lenglet.
