Lautaro Martinez's agent breaks silence amid Barca links: 'Nobody has spoken to us'
- Alberto Yaque admits he heard the rumours about the alleged interest from the Catalan giants.
- However, he has no idea on Inter's potential reaction and what is going to happen next.
- Previously, however, the agent conceded his client would like to play more.
- Argentinean media claimed Barca could offer €112m for Lautaro Martinez.
Last week, a new rumour has emerged in the world's media. Barcelona are now reportedly linked with Inter centre forward and Argentina international Lautaro Martinez. The 20-year-old gem could possibly strengthen the Catalans' attack, however, his potential move would seem odd if they also manage to land Antoine Griezmann and Neymar.
In any case, Lautaro Martinez's agent, Alberto Yaque, couldn't shed the light on his client's future while talking to 'Passione Inter', as cited by Diario Sport: "I heard the rumours about Barcelona because the truth is nobody has spoken to us. It's only rumours at this stage. I have no idea how Inter would react, you'd need to ask them. If he's happy in Milan? That's something only he can say."
Previously, Yaque has also spoken to Fox Sports on Lautaro Martinez's potential transfer: "Lautaro is happy at Inter but he wants to play and that's logical."
According to Argentinean source Radio La Red, Barca are apparently willing to pay Inter Milan €112m for the 21-year-old so they can take some pressure of Luis Suarez next season. Lautaro only joined Inter last summer for around €30m and has recently agreed to extend his contract with Italian club for another year, until 2024.
After just one season at San Siro with 9 goals scored in 35 games, the forward's price has quadrupled. However, the deal won't be an easy one to achieve: new Inter boss Antonio Conte wants to keep Martinez and would rather offload former La Masia graduate Mauro Icardi.
