French media call Neymar 'troll' after '6-1 comeback' comments
- Neymar has recently said that the best moment of his career was the comeback against PSG.
- Several French outlets have fired back at the Brazilian following the comments.
- The 27-year-old is accused of being a 'troll' and starting a war against the club.
It's been over a month now since the rumours regarding Neymar's alleged desire to return to Barcelona have started spreading. Now it seems like we're witnessing a new chapter in the 'Neymar saga', as the 27-year-old gave a provocative answer to a reporter's question regarding the best moment of the player's career.
As a result, French media fired back at the forward. For example, Le Parisien considers that Ney has 'publicly trolled' Paris Saint-Germain, adding:
"He no longer hides. Quite the opposite, his desire to leave is evident. There is no doubt that this game was absolutely memorable for Barca, but now he is publicly trolling PSG and irritating his own fans."
L'Equpe have been more reserved in their comments, saying only that Neymar returned to Parc des Princes 'as if nothing happened'.
France Football, on the other hand, believe that the comments weren't merely a joke:
"It was a calculated response, it is impossible to think otherwise. It is a new declaration of war with PSG, as he seems determined to leave more than ever."
And finally, Le Figaro, another French outlet, had their say on the mass hysteria:
"Is it a provocation or a simple awkward situation?"
"One thing is certain: to speak in these terms of the comeback harms Neymar who is already late for the pre-season training. Everyone knows that he wants to return to Barcelona, starting with Leonardo and the Parisian staff and ending the players.
"He should know how to control his statements in these situations, but Neymar chose not to hide, it would be better to say that he opted for a provocation."
