La Liga's opening to be overshadowed by VAR absence - Marca
- The first two La Liga matchdays could be held without the reviewing system.
- The "Hawk-Eye" system is to be prepared a bit later than expected.
- Barcelona will play their first fixtures against Athletic (away) and Real Betis (home).
The first two La Liga matchdays will likely get through without VAR.
There are certain concerns that the "Hawk-Eye" system will not be prepared earlier than a month before the new season kicks-off.
In May, the Royal Spanish Football Association announced that VAR would be used in La Liga and Segunda Division.
According to the RFEF's decision, the previous VAR contractor has been replaced by Hawk-Eye Innovations Ltd., which could be the reason for the delay.
