Griezmann's father admits he wanted Antoine to sign for Barca even more than his son
- The star player's father tells that he didn't agree with Antoine's decision to stay at Atletico last year.
- Alain is now extremely happy that his offspring is officially a Barcelona player.
"When he was making his choice last year, I wanted him to sign for Barca, I give you 200%. But it was his decision, he is a professional," told Alain to the Catalan media.
He also admitted that the procedure of accomplishing the transfer was really tough.
"I was very stressed because there is never any certainty in football. It was a real relief when he signed (sighs). I said to myself, "finally!" because it was complicated from the very beginning."
Alain is now extremely positive thanks to his son's choice.
"Barcelona is the best of the best. I continue following Barca since the years of Cruyff, Stoichkov and all the great players who have been there. It is an impressive football legacy. It's gigantic, fantastic. There are no words to describe how I feel," says the father of the Catalans' new star.
Antoine Griezmann was confirmed as FC Barcelona's new player exactly a week ago. The Catalans paid his €120m release clause and the Frenchman was free to leave Atletico Madrid and sign a five-year deal with Barca.
