Il Messaggero: Malcom offered to Roma after snubbing them a year ago
- Malcom is reportedly looking for a club to get more playing time.
- An intermediary has reportedly offered him to Roma as the club tried to sign him last year.
- The Italians are said to be interested in the winger.
- The only problem remains his high salary at Barca.
According to Rome-based newspaper Il Messagero, Malcom has been offered to Roma, the club that tried to sign the winger last year right before Barcelona lured the player away. As a reminder, the Italian club had already announced the Brazilian's arrival but Barca intervened and highjacked the move, a gesture Roma didn't appreciate.
Reportedly, the 22-year-old is looking to join a team where he would 'feel like a football player again', as Ernesto Valverde didn't give him too many chances last term. Although the Italians are on the market for an attacking player and like Malcom, the Brazilian's current salary (around €5m) is something the Serie A team can't afford. As such, the winger will have to lower his demands if he is to join.
Interestingly enough, it isn't Blaugrana who offered Malcom to Roma but rather an intermediary who has allegedly been hired by the player to take care of his transfer. Considering that the Catalans signed Antoine Griezmann and the 22-year-old could end up getting even less playing time in the 2019-20 season.
Moreover, it is likely that the Brazil international will leave only in case the Catalans reach a deal for Paris Saint-Germain's Neymar. All La Liga teams have only three non-EU slots available for the next season, with Barca's being filled by Malcom, Arthur and Arturo Vidal.
