Griezmann: 'Messi still hasn't called to welcome me, Suarez did'
- Antoine claims that Leo didn't call to welcome him aboard.
- The Argentine is currently on holiday.
- Suarez, however, already has an ongoing relationship with the 28-year-old.
Ahead of the friendly matches against Chelsea and Vissel Kobe, Barca's new acquisition Antoine Griezmann sat down to an interview with Sky Sports in which he opened up on his first days as a Blaugrana player. Surprisingly enough, the 28-year-old revealed that club captain Leo Messi, who is currently on holiday, hasn't called to welcome him:
Have you spoken with Messi and Suarez over the phone yet?
"As for the phonecalls, Messi still hasn't called me but Suarez has. [He] congratulated me and welcomed me on board."
It should be remembered that Messi is currently on holiday in Antigua with his family. Perhaps this is the reason that the 32-year-old hasn't yet contacted Antoine.
In fact, the Frenchman revealed in an earlier interview to Marca that he and Luis already have been in contact:
How are you having lost your 'Uruguayan connection' with Godin? Now you have Luis Suarez, you'll be able to keep up your taste in their customs.
"I'm glad: I haven't had any Mate herbs here for example and I've asked [Suarez] to send me some with a friend and he's already brought me some, which is great. And then, on the field, he's a great player that guarantees lots of goals and lots of trophies. I will also be here to give him lots of assists or for him to give them to me. I'm sure that we'll get along perfectly."
