Barcelona Live users pick Barca's ultimate XI to face Chelsea
- Barcelona will face Chelsea as part of their pre-season tour in Japan.
- Antoine Griezmann and Frenkie De Jong's debuts will highly likely take place today.
- Several La Masia players are expected to perform as well.
Yesterday we asked you - our readers - about Barca's line-up which, in your opinion, Ernesto Valverde should definitely pick for the upcoming match with Chelsea.
This option has become the most demand-led, probably because it's the strongest pick to choose against our English rivals. This is how Barca's usual starting XI will look like when there's either no Messi or Suarez. Griezmann upfront, Dembele and Malcom on the wings and one of the best options in defence, with Lenglet and Pique starting.
Keenan Henry: "Option 1... Games against Chelsea have always been tough for us. They're a different team this time around but they still would pose a good threat because they've started their pre-season preparations long before us, so they'll be more match-sharp. Valverde should put his 'strongest lineup' to start this game."
The 4-2-4 formation is not quite popular with the fans, maybe due to the questionable choice to play with less ball possession in midfield, as well as to the decision to put Carles Alena on the left wing and Malcom as a centre forward. It all points to the fact that Valverde will not fall back on this one.
Hardcore La Masia supporters obviously choose this starting XI. Classic 4-3-3 with a highly prospective midfield of De Jong, Puig and Alena, and Todibo with Guillem in defence. We suppose that Valverde won't be risky just from the beginning though we could expect changes in the starting squad right after the half-time.
King Solomon: "for the love of Alena, Puig, Jong and malcom. I prefer option 3, the future is bright."
