Busquets is ready for 'good' competition with De Jong
- The Spaniard describes the Dutchman as a 'great player'.
- He believes the potential competition will make both of them better.
- De Jong has previously admitted he doesn't have a fixed position at Barca.
Sergio Busquets has been a Barcelona regular since 2008. Now he may face some competition in the midfield following the €75million signing of Frenkie de Jong. The Spaniard, however, seems to be happy with a new teammate. He praises the Dutchman during Friday's press conference ahead of Saturday's friendly against Vissel Kobe.
FC Barcelona official media quote Busquets as saying: "De Jong is a great player, and competition is good because it makes us better."

There is still no certainty on which exact position De Jong will occupy in the Blaugrana midfield. After all, this area is somewhat overcrowded. There are currently nine senior players capable of playing there. Moreover, Riqui Puig's potential exploits could see him promoted to the first team as well.
De Jong, meanwhile, doesn't seem to be eager to speculate on his future role in the Barcelona midfield. It is true he played as a pivot against Chelsea in Tuesday's friendly but his position isn't fixed, as he stated after the game, as quoted by Diario Sport:
"I felt very comfortable in midfield because my team-mates helped me a lot, the feelings have been good. For me it's not important to play in one position or another, what I like is playing and it doesn't matter where that is. Valverde didn't tell me that I was just going to play in one fixed position."
