Official: Japanese signing Abe won't debut against Vissel Kobe
- The winger is still recovering from his hip injury.
- Iniesta and Bartomeu sent words of support to the 20-year-old.
- Recent Barca signing is especially admired in his homeland.
Hiroki Abe is not available for tomorrow's selection against Vissel Kobe.
The player still feels discomfort in his hip as his debut is delayed until the next friendly fixtures.
That's upsetting news for the Japanese fans who bought tickets for Saturday's game. Hiroki is highly respected in Japan and the support has considerably risen amid his Barcelona move.
The local media report that the club's legend Andres Iniesta and Barca's president Josep Maria Bartomeu privately supported Hiroki.
Originally a left midfielder, Hiroki Abe is also able to play on the opposite flank. He has also been used as a second striker during his stay in Japan. The youngster played 48 games in the J-League and scored four goals. In 2018, he was named the Best Young Player of the Year. Moreover, a couple of weeks ago he made his international debut in the Copa America against Chile. After that, the Japanese was unveiled as Barcelona player.
