Bartomeu with no update on Neymar: 'He's a PSG player and we respect PSG'
- The Brazilian has been linked with a potential exit this summer.
- Camp Nou is said to be his favoured destination.
- The Catalans, reportedly, are also interested in bringing the player back.
- However, Blaugrana president refused to give any update on the transfer saga.
The Neymar transfer saga is likely to drag on until September 1, the very day the transfer window closes. Recent reports claim that the Brazilian, just like before, wants to return to Camp Nou this summer following an unsuccessful two-season spell at Paris Saint-Germain. However, Barcelona's president Josep Maria Bartomeu refused to give any updates on the situation, standing firm on his earlier 'no Neymar case' position:
"I read the newspapers in the summer and they say a lot of things. The only thing that is clear here is Neymar is a PSG player and we have a lot of respect for PSG. In this case, there isn't much to say."
Contrary to the president's words, Spanish TV Channel Cuatro recently reported that the Parisians are open for negotiations over a swapping deal including 1 or 2 Barcelona players. The latest reports from other sources hint that one of them could still be Philippe Coutinho.
However, PSG allegedly don't plan to make their demands but to wait for Bartomeu to come with a specific offer. Both the French club and Barca president are supposed to have held the discussion about a possible transfer.
As for the Brazilian, Neymar wasn't included in PSG' 3rd friendly fixture, this time due to lacking match fitness. Still, the 27-year-old stays in China and waits for his chance to be called up for the game against Sydney FC next Tuesday, July 30.
