RAC1: Barca to focus on buying and selling with 4 players named, Neymar among top priorities
- Barca have returned to Catalonia following their Japan tour.
- According to highly-credible journalist Romero, the club will now focus on future arrivals and departures.
- The Catalans plan to sign Neymar and Junior Firpo.
- Malcom and Coutinho could be offloaded.
Barcelona have already returned from their Japan tour, where the squad faced Chelsea and Vissel Kobe. Now, according to highly-credible source Gerard Romero, the club will focus on future arrivals and departures.
"Barca are back on the market. Everyone is back in Barcelona after the Japan tour. The coming weeks will be important in terms of departures and arrivals. [In] Junior Firpo and Neymar. [OUT] Coutinho and Malcom," reads the tweet.
Reportedly, the two players on Barca's wishlist are Paris Saint-Germain's Neymar and Real Betis' Junior Firpo.
Neymar has been long linked with a Camp Nou return but his transfer saga seems far from being over. Although PSG's sporting director had previously said that the Brazilian could be sold if the right bid arrives, it looks like the French team is reluctant to enter negotiations. Barca are said to be considering a swap deal because of Ney's high market value.
As for Junior Firpo, the 22-year-old is viewed as the perfect Jordi Alba replacement, who played without a viable substitute last term. According to previous reports, the talks between Blaugrana and Los Beticos are advanced and Firpo could end up costing around €25m. Barca B's Juan Miranda could be included in the deal.
In terms departures, Philippe Coutinho seems to be the best candidate to leave Camp Nou this summer. After a rough season in Catalonia, the 27-year-old could be offloaded for around €105m, according to previous reports. Moreover, Coutinho could also be included in a swap deal for Neymar.
And finally, Malcom looks like a surplus to Ernesto Valverde's needs. The 22-year-old looked fairly good during the pre-season. However, the problem with him is that Malcom is a non-Eu player. Considering that Barca has only three spots available (with Arthur and Arturo Vidal occupying the two other), the winger could leave to make room for Neymar. Reportedly, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspurs are among the teams interested in the player.
