Vidal joins Alaves on loan
- ...not Arturo Vidal, though.
- Right-back Aleix Vidal was at Barca between 2015 and 2018.
- He returned to Sevilla for €9.3m last summer and will now continue his career at Alaves.
Remember Aleix Vidal? The right-back arrived from Sevilla in the summer of 2015 for €17million. However, he never managed to become a regular at the Camp Nou stadium. During his Blaugrana tenure, he only made 51 first-team appearances. Still, he managed to score five goals during this run.
Eventually, Vidal was considered to be surplus to the Blaugrana requirements. Last year, he returned to Sevilla for €9.3m. The 29-year-old couldn't be happy with his Sevilla reunion either as he never managed to find the net in any of 29 matches in all competitions last term.
On July 28, it has been confirmed that Vidal has been shipped to Alaves on a loan deal. The reports indicate that the Basques won't have an option to sign him on a permanent basis.
By the way, one of Vidal's goals at Barca arrived in Clasico. Curiously, he it took him just A MINUTE to score in the dying moments of the famous 3-0 Real Madrid away win in 2017. Lionel Messi assisted on Vidal's goal while two others were scored by Luis Suarez and the Argentinean himself.
