- The Ghanian spent six months at Barcelona on loan.
- He describes this experience as a 'truly beautiful'.
- Boateng says: "To have the possibility at 32 years old to play with those players was incredible."
Kevin-Prince Boateng recalls his unfortunate six-month-long loan spell at Barcelona. The former Sassuolo striker arrived at the Camp Nou stadium in January to become the Catalans' back-up striker. However, his neverending knee issues limited his performance. In total, the Ghanian didn't manage to find the net for the new team.
Currently at Fiorentina, Boateng reveals the best memories from the Blaugrana tenure. Marca quote him as saying: "It was a truly beautiful experience for me and my life. I lived in Barcelona and played with the best players in the world, even though it was not very satisfying as I played there for just six months. To have the possibility at 32 years old to play with those players was incredible."
He particularly highlights playing with Leo Messi: "And Messi... in the end I can be happy to have played alongside him because when you play against him you always lose. Yes, I'm a bit sad because things did not go as I expected but I can take many positives."
Ar Barca, Boateng only managed to accumulate 303 minutes in four games. He completed full matches against Real Valladolid, Huesca and Celta. The striker also lasted for 63 minutes in the 2-0 first-leg defeat att he hands of Sevilla.
