With the Premier League transfer window shutting down at 18:00 CET today, August 8, there is still hope of Philippe Coutinho's eventual return to England. However, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has just ruled out the possibility of Arsenal's transfer.
He writes on his personal Twitter account: "Philippe Coutinho has been offered by his agents again but Arsenal are not interested now."
On Tuesday afternoon, L'Equipe journalist Bilel Hizazi, who was the first to report on Neymar's desire to leave Paris Saint-Germain and rejoin Barcelona, stated that Arsenal were ready to sign Coutinho on a loan deal. This rumours has been confirmed and denied by various other news sources.
The Gunners are not particularly in need of the player of Coutinho's profile, however, their new sporting director and Coutinho have the same agent, Kia Joorabchian.
Earlier on Wednesday, ESPN sources reported that Coutinho will NOT move to the Premier League this summer. With the transfer window closing in the next 24 hours, none of the English clubs see the Brazilian as a possibility.
Previously, multiple reports claimed that Tottenham Hotspur were extremely close to sealing the deal, however, the negotiations were described as very complicated ones.
