Neto: 'I'm praying that Coutinho can stay'
- The goalkeeper admits he doesn't have any say on this matter.
- However, he would love to have his fellow compatriot by his side next season.
- Neto says on Coutinho: "He's a close friend and an incredible person."
That's how Neto replies on the question on Coutinho's potential departure, as quoted by Marca: "It's a subject about which I'm not the one who should say what will happen. But personally, I'm praying that he can stay. He's a close friend and an incredible person. I'd like to be with him for a long time, but my opinion won't change anything."
Neto did an excellent job during Barcelona's 2-1 friendly win against Napoli in Miami on Thursday's early morning. He completed the full match and made several stunning saves. In fact, only Samuel Umtiti's unfortunate own goal was the only strike the Brazilian conceded that day.
As for Coutinho, there is still a slim possibility of him ending up in the Premier League. Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester United have all been linked with his services. However, the Brazilian has recently rejected Spurs' offer to join them on loan. Apparently, the clubs are financially unable to afford his huge salary.
