Suarez: 'Griezmann has to adapt to Barcelona's style'
- The duo played together in the first half of the Napoli win.
- The Uruguayan admits it's not easy to get used to the Catalans' football.
- However, he also describes Griezmann as an 'intelligent' player.
Luis Suarez scored the last-minute acrobatic winner against Arsenal on Sunday but failed to produce the similar performance in the 2-1 Napoli friendly win on Thursday's early morning. The Uruguayan lasted for the first 45 minutes as he started alongside his new attacking partner, Antoine Griezmann.
Suarez discusses the Frenchman and the game itself in an interview with Marca: "It was the second game we played together and it's just the beginning of what we'll do this season. He has to adapt to Barcelona's style and that's no easy at all. It costs a lot for everyone at first. But he's a very intelligent player and we hope he adapts as quickly as possible."
Suarez admits the Napoli game was rather exhausting for him: "I ended the game tired. The first minutes of pre-season are difficult, and they become more so with time. Trying to find the pace as quickly as possible for the start of LaLiga."
Barcelona beat Napoli 2-1 thanks to the goals from Sergio Busquets and Ivan Rakitic with Samuel Umtiti scoring a disappointing own goal. The Catalans face the same opponent on Saturday's late night in Michigan.
The La Liga opening fixture is scheduled for Saturday, August 17. Barcelona travel to Ernesto Valverde's former club Athletic Club.
