212 minutes, no goals: what's Griezmann's problem in front of the net?
- Despite being used as a centre-forward, the Frenchman hasn't scored any goals yet.
- However, he had goalscoring opportunities in each friendly game.
He didn't find the back of the net at least once.
Still, if we take a look at all the fixtures' highlights, we'll see that the Frenchman is doing better in front of goal with every single game following. His moves are becoming much more dynamic, he's opening for shots on target.
With the arrival of Luis Suarez on the pitch, Ernesto Valverde continued using Antoine as a centre-forward which was quite surprising regarding Griezmann's assisting abilities and his knowledge of how to launch the attack from depth.
Sometimes Valverde gives personal instructions for both to play wider, and it makes sense as Griezmann is a more creative offensive player and he's good at creating goalscoring opportunities for his partners. We'd seen that at Atletico, we see that in the first Antoine's pre-season with Barca already.
However, it seems that Valverde still believes in the World Champion as a goalscorer, maybe because of the Frenchman's impressive statistical record of last seasons. But we have enough strikers to ease Antoine's work, don't we?
What's your opinion on Griezmann's goal drought? Valverde's dullness? Or Antoine's just waiting for Barca's first official games?
