Fabregas: 'I wanted to play much longer at Barca'
- Former Barca playmaker confesses that he would gladly be Barca's legend.
- However, he notes that sometimes "things not go as planned".
- Cesc played for the Catalans from 2011 to 2014 and earlier at La Masia.
"Barca is my childhood club.
"I wish I could have played there for 20 years, but things don't always go as planned, so you have to adapt to changes," admits the 32-year-old.
Although there's no official information on why the Catalan board put the Spaniard on sale back in 2014, the earlier reports stated that the coaching staff was disappointed with Cesc's drastic form decline, especially with the start of the second half of the last seasons of Fabregas at Barca.
After his sale to Arsenal back in 2003, Cesc returned to Barcelona in 2011 for €29 million with a further €5 million in variables. At Barca, Fabregas won the Club World Cup, La Liga and Copa del Rey. He scored 42 goals in 151 matches between 2011 and 2014.
The 32-year-old is a Monaco player now. He joined the Ligue 1 side in January and saved them from the relegation with one goal in 13 games.
