Semedo: 'My Barca coaches and teammates helped me develop'
- Nelson says that despite only knowing Barca from TV prior to joining he knew how hard it would be to establish himself there.
- Thankfully, everyone at the club supported him and help to succeed.
"I only knew about Barca from TV," the full-back said. "But I knew it would be hard to play here, with so many good players and such a different way of playing. But with the help of the players and coaches I think I have improved a lot."
Nelson also says that Danio Alves is the player he models his game on:
"Dani Alves left a huge responsibility on the shoulders of new full-backs joining the team. He's the best player I ever saw in my position," claimed Nelson.
The 25-year-old stressed the importance of his presence at Barca as Dani's follower.
"It makes me proud to think that I was chosen to take over from him in the role."
Allegedly, Barcelona value Semedo's qualities greatly and don't want to lose him. Moreover, he has already attracted interest from varios top clubs which may have obviously boosted his transfer value. After all, the Catalans have reportedly rejected several offers for the full-back from the unnamed clubs from England, Italy and Spain.
Meanwhile, Semedo was previously linked with Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain. Multiple sources predicted him to be a part of an Antoine Griezmann or Neymar respective deals which is no longer a case.
What about Semedo? He registered just 42% of total minutes in all competitions last season. Allegedly, he isn't satisfied with the amount of the playing time he is getting at Barcelona.
