Mundo Depotivo: Rakitic informs Valverde he wants to stay
- Inter and PSG are two sides linked with a move for the Croatian.
- However, Ivan asked Valverde to stay for another season.
- The midfielder is ready to be a back-up and fight for minutes.
Barca, meanwhile, tried very hard to include the midfielder in the deal for Neymar but PSG haven't shown any interest in the player.
With the transfer window nearing its final stage, the Croatian has pledged Ernesto Valverde to stay for at least another season, Mundo Deportivo report. Ivan is aware that he isn't guaranteed a place in the starting XI but he is ready to fight for minutes.
It looks like the Croatian's main task of this summer is to test the opponents' goalkeeper with long-range efforts.
The 32-year-old scored another goal after a shot from almost outside the penalty area. This goal helped Barca secure their third consecutive pre-season win, this time again in the last few minutes of the 2nd half.
The Croatian has scored at least 7 long-distance goals during his Barcelona career. However, it seems that these days Valverde urges the player to strike more often as Ivan is constantly spotted on the pitch with his shots blocked. Personal instructions are working well, huh?
With these goalscoring stats, Valverde could think of asking the board to keep the player at his team for another season
