Sport: Rafinha nears a move to Valencia
- The Brazilian is on the verge of Barca departure.
- Alcantara has full agreement with Valencia.
- Barca demand 15 million euros for the midfielder, 10 paid upfront.
- Valencia are offering only 5 million upfront and the rest in performance-related bonuses.
With Blaugrana going back to Catalonia after the USA part of the pre-season they still have a few issues to sort out.
One of these is the future of Rafinha. The midfielder who has only one year left on his contract should leave the club this summer if Barcelona still hope to get any money from his sale. And, according to Diario Sport, the Brazilian is 'really close' to completing his move to Valencia.
If everything goes well, Rafinha will be Los Che's player this week already. Valencia and Alcantara are in total agreement regarding the contract, so it's for Barca and Los Che to negotiate the transfer details.
Barca demands have always been clear: they want 15 million euros for the midfielder. They expect the sum to be paid in several instalments - starting with the first one of 10 million. Valencia, on the other hand, are ready to pay 5 million euros upfront and the rest of the sum in performance-related bonuses as they are somewhat disturbed by Rafinha's injury history.
Nevertheless, the clubs are not too far apart and should reach the agreement within a week.
Earlier reports from Spanish media claimed that Valverde wanted his team's midfield to be reduced from 9 to 6 spots. It's quite obvious that Rafinha, therefore, is put on Barca's sale list this summer.
