Lenglet 'ready to fight' for starting spot with Umtiti
- Clement played the whole 90 minutes against Napoli.
- However, he doesn't want to take anything for granted and will fight for his place in the starting XI.
- The main thing, however, is to perform well as a team, the Frenchman concludes.
Barcelona managed to achieve a very convincing 4:0 win over Napoli in their last friendly before the start of the season.
However, as the centre-back admitted himself he doesn't take anything for granted or assume that he will be a starter in the League opener against Bilbao as well.
"I am happy if the coach is happy with my performances," humbly admitted the Frenchman as cited by Sport.
"Now the new season begins and we have to make an effort because we are all Barca players and at any moment we have to help the team," emphasised Lenglet the collective nature of the game.
"As for this issue of being a starter or not, we will see it later. Today we have played a great game. At Barca we play 60 games a year, I am prepared to fight."
The clash against Napoli was Barca's last friendly before the start of the season. As was confirmed by La Liga, Barcelona will face Athletic Bilbao away at San Mames on Friday, August 16, 21:00 CET.
Should Lenglet and Pique pair up in the centre of defence for the season opener?
