Ernesto Valverde side managed to achieve a convincing 4:0 win over Napoli.
Barca played with a renewed midfield of Carles Alena, Frenkie de Jong and Sergi Roberto which looked quite capable of dominating Carlo Ancelotti's Napoli who are arguably the second-best side in Italy.
After the clash, Carles Alena shared his experience as a starting midfielder for Barca:
"I'm very satisfied with the team for the performance we put in," he said as per Sport.
"I felt super comfortable out there. It's so easy to play alongside Frenkie [de Jong], with Sergi [Roberto]... with everyone. We produced a fantastic performance which will help us leading into LaLiga."
The 21-year-old doesn't plan to stop there as he aims for more minutes in the league for the Catalans:
"I've already said that I want to take that step forward in my career. I want to play, I want to start matches. I've already had that first season so I could adapt. There's a lot of competition in midfield and it depends on me, but I'm confident this will be a good year for me and the team."
The clash against Napoli was Barca's last friendly before the start of the season. As was confirmed by La Liga, Barcelona will face Athletic Bilbao away at San Mames on Friday, August 16, 21:00 CET.
Should Barca try to play with Alena, de Jong and Roberto in the middle more often?
