Mbappe already misses Neymar: 'We're not the same team without him'
- The Frenchman assesses PSG's ambitions and admits they depend on Neymar.
- Two weeks ago, he also backed the Brazilian to stay.
- However, it was also Mbappe who pushed Neymar out of the group while they were taking a team photo after the Trophees des Champions win.
How are PSG doing without Neymar? Apparently, they are quite fine as they beat Nimes 3-0 in their Ligue 1 opening fixture. Kylian Mbappe scored the second goal of the game and addresses the media afterwards.
The Frenchman admits, however, that the Parisians are a different team without Neymar. That's what he tells Canal +, as quoted by Goal: "PSG ambitions? It depends, we will try. But we will not lie; we must also see what will happen with Neymar. It's not the same team without Neymar as it is with him. But we will try to do it for the fans."
Almost two weeks ago, Mbappe has also backed Neymar to stay at PSG, as per Goal: "I want Neymar to stay with us, I do not want him to leave. I have said this to him. Everything is going well between us."
Curiously, however, Mbappe wasn't so happy to see Neymar during the Trophees des Champions celebrations last week. PSG beat Rennes 2-1 with the Brazilian banned for this game. Even though Neymar joined his current colleagues for the team photo, the Frenchman was clearly pushing him out of the group.
Both Barcelona and Real Madrid are said to be in the race for Neymar. Nothing is certain, however. Los Blancos could be in the pole position simply because of their financial power and the tensed relationships between Barca and PSG. The Catalans, meanwhile, could force the Brazilian to make his final say and opt for the Camp Nou return.
