Marcelo Bechler: 'Neymar will go to Madrid if he can't join Barca'
- Bechler broke Ney's transfer to PSG in 2017.
- Now the Brazilian journalist insists the forward's preference is Camp Nou return.
- The 27-year-old also remains open to the Bernabeu switch.
Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar is now keen on two things: a move away from the Parisians and a return to Barcelona. That's according to Marcelo Bechler, a Brazilian journalist who broke the player's move to Parc des Princes in 2017.
However, in an interview with Cadena SER, Bechler refused to rule out Neymar's move to Santiago Bernabeu despite the player's wish to return to the Catalans this summer.
"PSG want to bring in as much money as they can for Neymar, and want to sell him as soon as possible," he said. "If there are offers from both Barcelona and Real Madrid, Neymar's choice would be Barca.
"Neymar wants two things: firstly to leave PSG, and secondly to play for Barcelona - but he'll go to Madrid if he can't join Barca. He'd have no other option."
What makes the Brazilian's move to Madrid unrealistic is that Los Blancos would have to amass 200 million euros in player sales in order to present a bid which would satisfy the Parisians' demands.
According to a very reliable ESPN reporter Sam Marsden, the Catalans are ready to offer as much as 100 million euros for the Brazilian as well as include two players of their own in the deal - Ivan Rakitic and Philippe Coutinho.
During Tuesday meeting with Abidal PSG sporting director Leonardo is expected to be present alongside his No. 2 Angelo Castellazzi and super-agent Pini Zahavi. The talks are expected to be 'very complicated'. Fortunately for Barcelona, Real Madrid are apparently unable to meet Paris' demands due to the lack of funds for the transfer.
