Leonardo delivers controversial comment on Neymar talks
- PSG sporting director claims that there is no advancement in the negotiations.
- Several days before, he confirmed that the talks were advanced.
- He also denied that Neymar is training out of the team.
"There are talks about Neymar's future but nothing is advanced," told Leonardo to RMC Sport.
He also commented on his personal attitude to the Brazilian.
"Neymar made some mistakes. I didn't have an opportunity to know him before. As the days go by, I know him better. I think he's a good boy with a very good background. And on the pitch, he's an amazing player."
Regarding the latest rumours about Neymar training separately of the squad, Leonardo had a firm response.
"Neymar is not training off the team, it's all false."
The supposed lack of advancement in the negotiations could be caused by PSG's discontent with the latest offer made. As reported recently, the Parisians would like to get Philippe Coutinho and Nelson Semedo as an exchange for the 27-year-old, however, Barca offer Ivan Rakitic instead of the Portuguese.
Leonardo is considered to be the key contacting person in the talks between PSG and Barcelona. As stated by different sources on Tuesday, Eric Abidal met Leonardo and discussed the details of the deal for the first time.
