Sport: Bartomeu set to get personally involved in Neymar negotiations
- The talks have been ongoing since Tuesday.
- Barca are reportedly ready for the final offer and Bartomeu's trip to Paris.
- Right now, the Parisians' demands are too high.
Neymar's transfer saga keeps dragging on, however, not much time is left now. Barcelona sporting director Eric Abidal has been in talks with his PSG counterpart Leonardo since this Tuesday but no major advancements have been made. Moreover, Philippe Coutinho's loan move to Bayern Munich makes the whole transfer highly questionable.
Barcelona-based newspaper Diario Sport now claim that Josep Maria Bartomeu is ready to enter the negotiations. Barcelona are allegedly preparing a final offer for Neymar as their most recent one (€60m plus Vidal and Coutinho) was rejected. There is another meeting scheduled for this weekend with the Blaugrana boss personally involved.
Sport believe Bartomeu is optimistic he could strike the deal with PSG and push Real Madrid away. Los Blancos are monitoring closely the whole situation which clearly annoys the Catalans. That's why Barca want Neymar to go public about his desire to leave as this would force the Parisians to lower their demands.
Right now, PSG's terms are too high for Barcelona. They allegedly demand Ousmane Dembele who is declared non-transferrable by the Catalans. Moreover, they are simply lacking funds to afford Neymar's huge transfer fee in full.
