Catalan media: Rafinha could continue at Barca
- The Brazilian has reportedly impressed Valverde with his Bilbao display.
- He is still wanted by Valencia and several Serie A clubs, however.
- Mundo Deportivo believe Rafinha could extend his Barca deal and go on loan.
Rafinha was so impressive in the La Liga opening fixture against Athletic Bilbao so that he is now expected to continue at Barcelona, according to the most recent reports by both Mundo Deportivo and Diario Sport.
He has been linked with the Valencia move as well as with the Serie A return. However, the internal crisis at Los Che has stalled the transfer negotiations. Moreover, Rafinha's brilliant display against Bilbao could force Ernesto Valverde to change his mind over the Brazilian's future. Sport claim the boss is already 'delighted' with him.
Still, Rafinha's situation is rather tricky as his contract expires next year. Mundo Deportivo believe Rafinha could extend his deal with Barcelona and leave on a loan deal afterwards. Apart from Valencia, he has allegedly received interest from Fiorentina and Inter.
However, Rafinha could continue at Barcelona even though no loan offer emerges. Mundo Deportivo confirm Sport's stance on Valverde as they claim the coach values the Brazilian highly due to his versatility.
Against Bilbao, Rafinha replaced Luis Suarez in the 37th minute. He registered an outstanding 92% passing accuracy rate, attempted four shots, provided three key passes and completed two dribbles. In fact, the Brazilian was Barca's best player on the pitch despite the disappointing narrow loss.
Last season, Rafinha scored a lovely goal against Inter but missed the majority of the campaign because of knee ligaments tear.
