Cadena SER: Dembele to be financially 'punished' by Barca
- The Catalans will fine Ousmane for not showing up for medical tests amid his recent injury.
- Instead, the Frenchman flew to Rennes to his mother with no club permission.
- After the Bilbao game, he assured medics that he was alright.
Instead, the 22-year-old flew to Rennes where he paid a visit to his mother. "That's one hundred percent sure," clarified Ousmane's representative.
The club has tried to get ahold of Dembele but he ignored the calls leaving both the medical team and the coaching staff furious. Ousmane has appeared in Barca facilities on Monday with the test showing that he has a tear in his left hamstring - an injury he previously suffered four times already.
The Frenchman will now miss five Barca games in La Liga and will likely return to training in the second part of September.
By the way, Dembele is Barca's most fined player of all time. At the end of October 2018, his total fine was valued at €50k as he had been late for one of Barca's training sessions.
