Messi yet to train with the team, La Masia star takes his spot: 3 main observations from Wednesday training
- Leo continues to train separately.
- As for now, he is still expected to be in the squad against Betis.
- Ansu Fati, 16-year-old La Masia star, has made his training debut on Wednesday.
- Semedo returned in team training.
Still no Messi
Despite reliable CatRadio claiming on Tuesday night that Leo Messi will highly likely take part in Barca's first home game of the season on Sunday, the Argentine has continued to train separately on Wednesday morning.
Semedo is back!
As for Nelson Semedo, who also trained alone on Tuesday, the Portuguese has re-entered the team training, as we expected him to do.
Barca star in making enters first-team training
Interestingly, talented La Masia starlet Ansu Fati who has been promoted to the B team this summer and extended his contract, has taken Messi's place in squad training. It's the 16-year-old's debut with the first team and, considering Barca injury crisis and Ansu's talent, the left-winger might as well find himself on the bench against Betis.
Apart from Ansu, three other Barca B players were called up by Valverde for the morning session: Inaki Pena, Carles Perez and Abel Ruiz.
Even if Messi will manage to recover in time for the clash, Blaugrana will still have to cope without their two major attacking threats - Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele. The Uruguayan is expected to miss two weeks while for Dembele his injury may take a while to be gone.
