Sport: Miranda to Schalke to be done in the next days
- Barca want Juan to play at the highest level in order to progress further.
- Reportedly, Miranda is set to join Schalke on a two-year loan.
- Previously, Blaugrana rejected offers from Juve and Marseille.
- Diario Sport believe the deal will be closed soon.
According to a recent report from Catalan-based outlet Diario Sport, Barcelona and Schalke 04 are set to finish Juan Miranda's loan in the coming days. According to previous reports, the left-back will join the Bundesliga outfit on a two-year loan without a buy option.
The 19-year-old left-back was previously a target for Olympique Marseille, however, the French club wanted to include a buyout clause in the deal. That didn't happen as Barcelona have their own intentions in terms of the Spaniard. Now, Juan is going to move on a two-season loan to Schalke 04.
Earlier on, Juventus allegedly made several transfer inquiries for the 19-year-old but the Catalans preferred to loan the player out and put a price tag of €15m.
The Spaniard has recently become a European U-19 champion with his national team alongside Abel Ruiz who's also paid much attention by Barca these days.
Juan Miranda's 2018-19 record:
- 29 games (including 4 games for the senior team)
- 1 goal
- 3 assists
Earlier on, Barcelona viewed Miranda as Jordi Alba's future replacement. However, following a series of uninspiring games for the first team, the club decided not to risk and buy Real Betis' Junior Firpo. Meanwhile, Juan will have the chance to gain first-team experience in Bundesliga and return as an improved player.
