Messi sends Fati his blessings: 'Happy to see our academy players achieve their dream'
- The Argentinean clearly enjoyed watching his side beating Betis 5-2 from the stands.
- After the game, he posted a touching message to Ansu Fati and Carles Perez.
- The former made his first-team debut at the age of 16 while the latter scored his first-ever goal for the seniors.
Lionel Messi wasn't able to help his team on Sunday's night against Real Betis as he is still recovering from a disappointing calf injury. He was watching the game at the stands together with his best friend Luis Suarez and their kids.
Luckily, the Catalans managed to get the job done without their most iconic player. Barca won 5-2 thanks to Antoine Griezmann's brace.
The game was highlighted by two crucial moments with La Masia gems. Carles Perez started the match and scored the third goal while 16-year-old Juvenil A prodigy Ansu Fati made his dream first-team debut.
Clearly, Messi is more than happy with how the events have unfolded. He writes a touching message to his younger colleagues on his personal Instagram account:
"Great performance from everyone. First three points in La Liga and really happy to see our academy players achieve their dream of making the first team and scoring in a competitive game at the Camp Nou."
Messi also shows a picture of him hugging Fati. What a night for a 16-year-old!
Fati is currently the youngest Barcelona player to make a La Liga debut since 1941. He lasted for around 15 minutes and produced a fine shot which went just inches wide.
