Two records Griezmann has broken with his brace against Betis
- The Frenchman enjoyed his first-ever game at the Camp Nou stadium as a Blaugrana.
- He has finally broken the curse of this ground as he failed to score here in 14 games with both Atletico and La Real combined.
- Moreover, he is the first Barca player to score a brace on his debut league home game in the 21st century.
Antoine Griezmann has proven he is the right man to join Barcelona. After an anonymous display against Athletic Bilbao last week, the Frenchman has bounced back in style and delivered exactly when he was needed the most.
Barcelona hosted Real Betis on Sunday's night and quickly conceded. However, Griezmann turned the things around early in the second half. He scored his debut Blaugrana goal shortly before the break and added another in the 50th minute of the game. Eventually, Barca won 5-2.
Griezmann has broken TWO records in this match:
First of all, he has finally ended his goalless Camp Nou streak. The Frenchman faced Barcelona 14 times in all competitions with both Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid. He has never managed to score at this ground with either of the teams. But he has broken the curse after joining Barcelona.
Secondly, Griezmann has become the first Barcelona player to score a brace on his La Liga debut match at the Camp Nou stadium in the 21st century. Curiously, nobody else managed to do it before even though the Catalans have plenty of the world-class stars within their ranks.
