Deadline day: 7 potential Barca deals to keep your eye on
Tribuna.com picks all last-minute deals which could take place on Monday.
Although all of the recent reports have included the Brazilian's return this summer, there has been no official info on Neymar's final destination this season. Theoretically, the deal could still happen, although there is a very low percentage of the possible comeback.
The Italian midfielder will be swapped for Ivan Rakitic in case the clubs agree on the Croatian's departure, as claimed by Mundo Deportivo. However, as clarified by reliable Edu Polo, the sides are unlikely to seal the deal due to lack of time and Rakitic's desire to stay at the club.
Daniele Rugani (Juventus)
The centre-back may become part of another swap deal with Juventus. As reported by Italian transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio, the Bianconeri are in search of a defender and would like to get either Samuel Umtiti or Jean-Clair Todibo as an exchange, with Umtiti obviously being a more preferred option.
The Argentinian's wife and agent Wanda Nara allegedly wants her husband to sign for the Catalans on a deadline day. The deal looks extremely unlikely as only a few Spanish sources have outlined the possibility of the move. Besides, Barca will have to spend about €80m to capture the striker.
Ivan Rakitic (to Juventus)
The Croatian's move isn't completely ruled out as the 31-year-old could make a last-minute switch to Bianconeri. The clubs have reportedly negotiated on two swap deals, however, none of them seems to be advanced enough to be finalized until noon.
The Brazilian will likely spend this season at the Celestes together with Denis Suarez. The 26-year-old has impressed in Barca's first matches of the La Liga campaign, however, it seems that the coaching staff doesn't completely rely on their attacking player even despite an injury crisis.
Samuel Umtiti (to Juventus)
The Italian champions are desperately searching for a centre-back to replace the injured Giorgio Chiellini. They could take advantage of the deadline day and make an inquiry to sign Samuel Umtiti. As stated by the latest reports, the Frenchman is more likely to stay at the Catalans. Furthermore, he has recently been spotted in London as he visited some of his Arsenal friends after their game against Tottenham Hotspur.
