Barca chiefs call Puyol over joining Blaugranes Sports Management team
- The ex-Barca captain was offered the job earlier.
- He asked to give him some time to think it over.
- The sides agreed the decision will be made in September.
- Now it's about time Carles made up his mind.
Barca hierarchy are wating for the Catalans' legend Carles Puyol to make the decision on his future. The iconic defender was offered a job in the club's Sports Management team.
According to reliable Spanish journalist Sique Rodriguez, Puyol asked Barca chiefs to give him time until September to make up his mind. Since it's September 2 already, the Catalans' representatives called Carles.
Earlier reports claimed Barcelona are going to offer Carles Puyol the currently vacant position of club's general manager. As a reminder, Pep Segura, the person who occupied the position between 2017 and 2019, left the club earlier this summer.
The Catalans believe that the recent arrivals of Victor Valdes as Juvenil A coach and Patrick Kluivert as head of La Masia could persuade the 41-year-old. Moreover, Puyol's ex-teammate and friend Eric Abidal is already part of the board which means the duo could end up working together once again.
