Germany legendary coach Vogts slams Coutinho: 'Not a world star, but a Barcelona substitute'
- Coutinho joined Bayern after an unimpressive spell in Barcelona and Liverpool exit.
- Vogts questions his status as a world-class player.
Legendary German national team manager Berti Vogts doubts our midfielder is really a world-class player, like Bayern advertise him.
"Why is a 27-year-old leaving a top club like Barcelona?" asked Vogts in the interview with T-Online.
"Because he has given up the hope to prevail there. Maybe he's not a world star, but a Barcelona substitute."
Last season at Barca, Coutinho only scored 11 goals in all competitions. In total, he contributed to 32 Barcelona goals with 21 goals and 11 assists, failing to live up to any expectations in pure statistical regard, too.
